BEAVER CREEK — Hiking in and around the Vail Valley is a pretty special experience on its own, but add in some apres activities to squeeze the most out of your summer days.

Beaver Creek has created a package to help guests find their way around the trails and then back to The Osprey to unlace their boots for food, drinks and even a massage treatment.

MILES OF OPTIONS

There are more than 62 miles of well-marked trails to explore in Beaver Creek. A good place to start and get your bearings is at the Beaver Creek Summer Adventure Center, located near Starbucks in the village. Head out on your own, or let a guide show you the way.

From stunning views and vistas to wildflower meadows and an alpine lake, Beaver Creek has hiking trails that suit all ability levels,” said Nate Goldberg, director of summer hiking

Goldberg’s insider tip: check out Royal Elk Trail to Beaver Lake.

The Beaver Creek Hiking Center expert guides help to design custom hikes based on both desire and ability levels. The hiking center also offers a full line up of weekly scheduled hikes, with guides who deliver their groups to views, while providing local knowledge about the area and its flora and fauna.

“Hiking guides also share insight on technical skills, such as the best way to hike uphill and how to use trekking poles for a more efficient hike,” Goldberg said.

Post-hike, anyone who chose a Wellness and Wilderness package — hotel guests as well as locals and day trippers — can take advantage of what’s offered through The Osprey.

“The new summer getaways invite guests to enjoy a break from the rigors of everyday life, savor the present moment through scenic hikes, seasonal summer culinary options and spa wellness treatments,” said Houston Perkins, general manager of The Osprey at Beaver Creek. “Wellness and Wilderness offers guests the full mountain experience.”

Choose from a few different packages:

The Osprey’s Trek to Table package, starting at $259, includes accommodations for two nights, and a keepsake hiking pack, water bottle and trekking pole for use while exploring Beaver Creek’s network of scenic hiking trails. Additionally, Trek to Table includes a Hike and Picnic adventure for two, giving guests a day of unlimited access to ride Centennial Gondola and access to the hiking trails from mid-mountain.

After a day of exploration, head into The Osprey’s Fireside Grill for an apres-hike tasting of fresh, seasonal vegetables, savory cheeses and choice of a glass of wine or summer wellness refreshment served in a keepsake Osprey wineglass.

“Chef Conor Shedor has crafted an apres hike Chef’s plate of fresh, seasonal vegetables, charcuterie and a refreshing cocktail or summer wellness refreshment,” Perkins said.

Adventure to Apres (starting at $324) offers each element of the Trek to Table package — including the pack, water bottle and pole and apres tasting— but also includes a Beaver Creek interpretive hiking guide to lead guests.

In addition, the offerings within the Trek to Table and Adventure to Apres packages, Wellness and Wilderness (starting at $519) includes a massage treatment of choice. The Osprey’s concierge team assists guests with choosing the ideal treatment, location and time.

“The Wellness and Wilderness packages at The Osprey at Beaver Creek are a perfect way for guests to indulge in a luxurious mountain retreat,” Perkins said. “The Osprey is just steps away from Beaver Creek’s pristine hiking trails.”
