Laura Anzalone has made a studio into a serene escape in a cozy space on the east end of Chambers Avenue in Eagle. Anzalone opened Soul Spa Studio in October 2015 to consolidate her specialized offerings of skincare, waxing, essential oil treatments, energy work and makeup application.

Anzalone began her work as an esthetician at the Sonnenalp in Vail and was a co-founder and therapist at Elements: A Day Spa in Eagle for three years. She simultaneously ran another venture, Glo Make-Up, providing a special-occasion look to complement wedding days and prom nights. Now, Anzalone offers all her specialties at Soul Spa Studio, bringing 15 years of experience to the table.

“Where I am now is the perfect place for me,” Anzalone said, “because although I like being in the ownership part of it, Elements was a small business that grew bigger than I wanted. So now, having Soul Spa, it’s the incorporation of everything that I want to do.”

LISTENING TO CLIENTS

Anzalone said her kids have taught her how to listen more intently, and she’s incorporating that into how she interacts with her clients.

“I just want them to know that when they come here, it’s all about them,” she said. “I really listen to what somebody has to say — really feeling that out and seeing what they need on that day because it’s always different.”

Try treatments like the express facial for $75, or go deeper with the Soul Spa Inner Beauty experience. It’s a 90-minute custom facial for $130 and includes a deep cleanse and steam, a skin-specific exfoliation and mask, skin analysis and extractions, moisturizing and sunscreen, along with massaging of the hands, arms, feet, head, neck and shoulders.

Anzalone said she loves the skincare line she uses, called HydroPeptide, because it’s effective on skin but not too intense.

“I really love that there’s no downtime,” Anzalone said of the products. “So if I do a peel, I call it a ‘peaceful peel,’ cause it gives you the results you want — advanced exfoliation with peptides, or anti-aging — but you don’t have to be in your house hiding because your skin can’t be in the sun for a week after.”

Soul Spa Studio is collaborating with Yoga Off Broadway for a special holiday offer this season called The Peaceful Package. It includes a 60-minute winter apple harvest facial and a five-punch yoga class card. It’s $150 and can be booked online or by phone.

Waxing services start at $12 (lip) and run up to $65 (full leg), and facial enhancements are $20 to $55, focusing on lip and eye treatments. Makeup analysis and instruction is $50, and wedding-day makeup is $150.

Anzalone recently completed essential oil training and incorporates the fragrant products into head, hand and foot massages for a full aromatherapy experience. Skin and hair holds onto the nice scents for a while, so spa time lingers even after you leave.
